SIDE PROJECTS
I may have the digital skills of a product designer, but my other skills are more like those of a prairie woman.
I relax by cooking elaborate things or crocheting on my couch while watching TV, and my first response to seeing something cool is usually "I think I could make that."
Here are some of my favorite experiments.
On a whim, I once bought a super-long crochet hook from a craft store. I then taught myself Tunisian crochet, which is like knitting, because you keep the stitches on the hook, but it uses crochet techniques.
Too loose, and then too small... I ended up making three different sweaters to get to the one that was just right. I got really good at unravelling yarn, and finally learned how to block my work as I go to check sizing.

One Thursday in college, the guy I'd been seeing unexpectedly ended things. Left without weekend plans, I turned my dorm room into a dressmaker's shop, and some spare fabric into my first big dress project.

Some of my favorite things to create on a computer are different materials in Cinema 4D. For this assignment of a brand extension for Tiffany & Co., I spent a long time trying to get the Tiffany blue porcelain just right.
